(1813-1879) Cinque led other slaves in a revolt on the slave ship Amistad, after they were illegally captured and brought to the Americas. While the boat was sailing from one port to the other in Cuba, Cinque led in the capture and killings of several slave traders. He was tried for the siege and killings of the white slave traders but found not guilty because the slave trade at that time was illegal.
