Exhibition & Colloquia Phases
Phases 2 consists of an initial exhibition and colloquia that will have all the entries, the winning designers present, all jurors, and guest speakers convene at UNC Charlotte in the spring of 2010 The 5 top design teams will be asked to present their modified designs and the jurors and guest speakers will comment and lead discussions on issues related to American slavery and design.
Phase 3 is the traveling exhibition and colloquia. The designs will be taken to other cultural centers where scholars will be asked to present essays they have written to the local communities. While the design entries of the competition will be presented this phase of Manifestations of Memory looks to go beyond the designs and look at topics related to American slavery.
