Sargent Claude Johnson "Forever Free" lacquered cloth on wood, 1933.Johnson, Sargent Claude:

(1887-1967) Sculptor and artist, Johnson's work focused on black racial protoypes. He work was simple and was typical of the art deco style. His forms, such as "Forever Free" had low relief contours and were very rectilinear. He was often showcased at the Harmon Foundation.
