(1892-1965) Head of graphics at the Philadelphia WPA, Thrash often depicted African American workers, which for the first time were allowed to work industrial jobs (there was a lack of workers because of the war). Thrash was a part of the Philadelphia fine print shop and exhibited his work numerous times throughout the nation.
